Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Heather McDermond and I would like to introduce myself and highlight why I feel counseling may be beneficial to you.

In our lives, we struggle at times where we may experience anxiety, depression, or everyday pressures. If you are feeling constant distress from life’s uncertainties, counseling may be beneficial to you.

In my practice, I will work collaboratively with you to identify your specific needs that you believe are causing stress and discomfort in your life. My approach is to be an active guide to help you identify your strengths that you already possess, and then utilize those strengths to reach your fullest potential. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying cognitive therapy, solution-focused, and systems perspective approaches and techniques, we will gain understanding of behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
